HELLO

Founded by Rachel, Dahra was born from a love for fabrics, pattern, interiors and most of all, colour. Her designs are infused with bold blue tones and innovative printing and dying techniques to achieve rich colour and vibrant patterns.

Having studied Printed Textile Design at Heriot Watt University in the Scottish Borders, Rachel experimented with hand dying and screen printing techniques.  This progressed into digital fabric design which enabled her to combine varying tonal blends and striped patterns with a complexity that could not have been dyed or screen printed.  She showcased her graduate collection at New Designers, collecting two awards in 2014.

Rachel expanded the collection to print the signature blue hues onto brushed aluminium. These achieve new depths of colour and vibrancy as the works shine and catch the light at different angles.  She debuted the aluminium art collection at New Designers in 2016 where she won the coveted 'One Year On' award.

Dahra was born with a concept in mind: to celebrate Scottish design, product and makers.
